Obituary of Ilene L. Williamson

Ilene L. Williamson, 89, of rural Virden, IL, passed away Wednesday morning, June 10, 2020 at her residence in Virden, IL. Ilene was born on January 2, 1931 to Harry and Nellie (Yelliott) Talbott in Springfield, IL. She graduated from Jacksonville High School with the class of 1949. On October 23, 1955 she married William Edward "Ed" Williamson in Lynnville, IL. He preceded her in death on December 21, 1994. Ilene was a devoted farmwife and mother. She was truly in charge of the family farm, as she tended to the garden, cooked, canned and was always sure her chickens were well taken care of. As a child, Ilene also had horses. She loved to read, especially her Bible, history books, and the newspaper. Ilene was a member of Country View Christian Church. Ilene is survived by 7 children, William Robert (Karen) Williamson of Virden, IL, Kenneth Edward (Kelly) Williamson of Girard, IL, Rebecca Grooms of Virden, IL, Rachel (Louis) Bliss of Girard, IL, James Lee (Denise) Williamson of Virden, IL, Timothy Alan (Angela) Williamson of Virden, IL, and Julie Nell (Eric) Hampton of Virden, IL; 20 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Ilene was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 1 brother and 2 sisters, and a great-granddaughter, Gabriela Ann Brooks. Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, June 12, 2020, at 10:00 am in Union Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Sam Turpin officiating. Memorials are suggested to Country View Christian Church.
