Diana Jane Collins, 76, of Taylorville, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville, IL. Diana was born on March 12, 1944 to LeRoy and Anne (Martin) Perkinton in East Saint Louis, IL. She graduated from Lanphier High School with the class of 1961. In July 1998, Diana married David Collins in Taylorville and he preceded her in death on November 2, 2007. Diana worked for Dr.'s Hospital in housekeeping and St. John's Hospital in distribution. She was also employed in the deli department at Cherry's IGA in Girard. Diana was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, shopping, and spending time with her family. She was a wonderful caregiver. Diana is survived by her daughter, Patricia Berriman of Taylorville, IL; three sons, Darryl Owens of Riverside, IA, Richard E. Owens of Taylorville, IL, and Neal Elliott of Harden, IL; 8 grandchildren, Cory and Ryan Bridges, Tristen and Carson Berriman, K.C., John and Blake Elliott and Maddyson Weller; brother, Richard Perkinton, Sr. of Springfield, IL; sister, Paula Warnke of Springfield, IL; niece, LeAnne Newsome, and a nephew, Richard Perkinton, Jr. Diana was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Graveside Services will be conducted on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 10:30 am in Union Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Mark Doane officiating. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
