Obituary of Patricia Pursey

Patricia Jane Pursey, 74 of Carlinville, Illinois passed away Thursday morning, March 11, 2021, at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL. Patricia was born October 20, 1946, in Carlinville, IL, a daughter of Melvin O. and Mary Jane (Bomkamp) Brown. Patricia graduated from Carlinville with the class of 1964. She married Melvin Pursey May 8, 1965, in Carlinville, Illinois. Patricia was a dental assistant for Dr. William Stinnett for over 35 years and retired in 1992. Patricia was a member of Ss Mary and Joseph Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed ceramics and looking after her two grandsons. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Sharon Brown, brother, Paul Brown, infant twin grandchildren; Austin and Aurianne Griffel. Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning, March 16, 2021, from 9:00 to 11:00 at Ss Mary and Joseph Catholic Church, Carlinville, IL with funeral services to be held after the visitation with Decon Denny Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Carlinville. Patricia is survived by her husband, Melvin Pursey of Carlinville, IL; daughter, Jodi (Greg) Griffel of Carlinville, IL; grandsons, Jacob and Jordan Griffel; brother, Jim Brown of Nilwood, IL; brother, Don Brown of Carlinville, IL; brother, Jerry (Mary) Brown of Gillespie, IL; brother, Dean (Sang) Brown of Phoenix, AZ; brother, Gary (Julie) Brown of Hettick, IL; brother, Roger (Stacy) Brown of Plainview, IL; sister, Nancy Lambeth of Plainview, IL; sister, Alice Brown of Carlinville, IL, as well as several nieces and nephews.
