Obituary of Ruth F. Collins

Ruth F. Collins 72, of Plainview passed away Friday evening, February 10, 2012, at her residence with her family at her bedside. She was born August 20, 1939, in Hickman, KY, a daughter of Luther and Virgle (Forsythe) Blasingim She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Andrea Collins in 1995. She worked at Echlin in Litchfield for 20 years and retired in 2001. Ruth was a member of the Carlinville United Methodist Church. Ruth loved following NASCAR, especially car #48 (Jimmie Johnson). In her spare time she enjoyed traveling, crafts and collecting angels. Surviving are her daughters, Theresa (Rick) Morris of Plainview, Rhonda (Patrick) Long of Tamarac, FL, Linda (Paul) Shaw of Carlinville, Cindy (Andy) Ashby of Carlinville and son, Martin D. (Shannon) Collins of Carlinville, 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, brother, Charles (Jackie) Blasingim Bethalto, brother, Billy Joe Blasingim of Pheonix, AZ, brother, Edward Blasingim of E. Alton, sister, Dorothy Whyers of Bethalto, sister, Mary Bricker Cottage Hills, brother, David (Karen) Blasingim Alton and brother, Ronnie Blasingim Ft. Walton Beach, FL. Funeral Information Friends may call Monday, February 13, 2012 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville. Funeral Services will be held, 9:30 AM, Tuesday, February 14, 2012, Carlinville United Methodist Church at 201 South Broad Street, Carlinville. Ruth will be laid to rest next to her daughter in Short Cemetery in Forest Homes, Il.
