Obituary of Frieda Ann Conner

Frieda Ann Conner 74, of Chesterfield, passed away Monday evening, April 28, 2014 at her residence in Chesterfield, IL. Frieda was born on August 5, 1939 to Clayborn and Alice (Ham) Wallis in Scottville, IL. On November 26, 1985 she married Gerald Alvin Conner in Carlinville and he preceded her in death on May 2, 2010. Frieda was a homemaker. She also worked as a nurses aid in an Auburn nursing home and a cook for a local hotel. Frieda enjoyed making arts and crafts including dolls and loved the St. Louis Cardinals. Frieda is survived by 6 sons, Rick (Brenda) Hamm of Litchfield, Robert Hamm of Dallas, TX, Roger Hamm of Willow Spring, MO, Delbert (Shirley) Hamm of Maroa, IL, David (Thelma) Hamm of Blue Mound, IL and Doug (Tonya) Hamm of Chesterfield; 6 step sons, J.R. (Betty) Jackson of Gillespie, Clarence Baker of Gillespie, Kelly (Shonna) Conner of Gillespie, Jerry Conner of Benld, Caleb (Terri)Conner of Trenton, IL and Paul Conner of Alton; father, Clayborn Wallis of Carlinville; 11 grandchildren; 16 step grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren; eight sisters, Phyllis Vice, Doris Bumgardner, Elsie Hays, Linda Zirges, Mary Chapman, Mable Wallis, Sylvia Schad, Judy Turner; seven brothers, Leroy Wallis, Dean Wallis, George Wallis, Frank Wallis, Carl Wallis, Harold Wallis, Junior Wallis, as well as several nieces and nephews. Frieda was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Conner, mother, Alice Wallis 1 sister and 2 infant siblings. Also preceding was a step great-granddaughter. Funeral Information Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville. Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Richwood Cemetery, Roodhouse, IL, with Rev. Cliff Woodman, officiating. There will be a time of food and fellowship following the graveside service at the Chesterfield Community Center, and all are welcome.
