94, of Girard passed away Thursday morning, May 29, 2014, at Pleasant Hill Village in Girard, IL.
A.P. was born January 9, 1920, in Nilwood, IL, son of William Oscar and Cora Ethel (Bristow) Crawford.
A.P. married Jennie L. Bruce December 12, 1942, in Litchfield, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jennie L. Crawford June 6, 2013, brother, Calvin O. Crawford and infant son Bruce Paul Crawford.
Crawford graduated from Girard High School with the class of 1938. A.P. was a lifelong farmer in the Girard area and retired from grain and livestock farming in 1982. He attended the First Christian Church and Pleasant Dale Baptist Church, where he was a member and served as a Deacon. He also was a member of the Macoupin County Farm Bureau. Crawford served 39 years on the board of Union Chapel Cemetery, 30 years as President. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his daughter, Betty L. (Jack) Reily of Highland Village, TX, son, Larry (Connie) Crawford of Girard, IL, daughter, Beverly (Morris) Gray of Girard, IL, son, David (Linda) Crawford of Girard, IL, daughter, Brenda (Brian) Solomon of Modesto, IL, son, Donald (Jill) Crawford of Girard, IL, son, Stanley (Shay) Crawford of Girard, IL, 17 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter, 2 nephews and a niece. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 1, 2014 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard, IL.
Funeral services will take place at 10:00 am, Monday, June 2, 2014 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald McElroy officiating.
Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery next to his wife. Donations Information
