Obituary of Dorothy Mae Allen

Dorothy Mae Allen 89, of Carlinville, passed away, Wednesday evening, January 26, 2011 at Carlinville Area Hospital. She was born Monday, May 9, 1921 in Carlinville, IL, the daughter of Alfred Ernest and Maude (Leach) Gwillim. Dorothy was a member of the Class of 1939 at Carlinville High School. She married Sterling A. Allen in Carlinville, IL on April 25, 1942 and he passed away March 15, 2007. Dorothy was a homemaker and farm wife. Dorothy was a member of First Christian Church in Girard and Home Extension. Dorothy was a great cook and loved to bake and crochet. Survivors: sons Gordon S. Allen (Bonnie) of Nilwood and Gary L. Allen (Terry) of Girard, 4 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral Information Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., Saturday, January 29 at the Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, January 30, 2011 at First Christian Church in Girard. Burial will be in Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery in Carlinville.
