Obituary of Angela C. Dufner Strutz

Angela C. Dufner Strutz 89, of Girard passed away, Sunday morning, June 17, 2012, at Pleasant Dale Place in rural Girard. Angela was born October 28, 1922, in Carlinville, IL, a daughter of Paul and Jeanette (Gassner) Cerar. Angela graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 1940. Angela married Robert E. Dufner on September 19, 1942 in Carlinville; he passed away on January 28, 1988. She later married Victor Strutz in 1992 in Springfield. Angela retired as the Postmaster for the United States Postal Service in Nilwood, IL in 1987. Angela attended Ss Mary & Joseph Catholic Church in Carlinville, was a member St Patrick's Catholic Church Alter Society, and served as a Den Mother for her son's Cub Scout Packs. She loved to sew, knit and was known as a great cook. Surviving are her husband, Victor Strutz; sons, James Robert (Linda) Dufner of Austin, TX, Michael Paul (Terri) Dufner of Girard, Patrick Edward (Linda) Dufner of Williamsville; step-sons, Jim (Linda) Strutz and Tim Strutz both of Springfield; nine grandchildren; two step grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; sister, Doris Ann Staples of Carlinville; sister, Barbara Kiel of Taylorville; brother, Bernard (Monique) Cerar of Monmouth; sister, Claudette Krupnick of Prescott, AZ; brother, George (Rita) Cerar of Carlinville and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers and sisters. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. Funeral Information Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 20, 2012 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am, Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Ss Mary & Joseph Catholic Church in Carlinville She will be laid to rest in New Calvary Cemetery in Carlinville next to her first husband Robert.
