Obituary of Edgar J. Falter

Edgar J. "Ed" Falter Jr. 85, of Carlinville, passed away Friday morning, May 24, 2013 at Carlinville Rehab and Health Care in Carlinville, IL. Ed was born on March 7, 1928 to Edgar Jacob Sr. and Maye (Wheeler) Falter in Reeder, IL. He married Doris Ann Imel on April 6, 1947 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Carlinville and she survives. Ed farmed until 1982 and worked for Ford Implement and Rathgeb Brothers in Carlinville from 1974 to 1977. Ed also was an owner/operator, driving his own truck from 1983 to 2005. Ed could fix anything and was an amateur radio operator on N9RQB, known as "Kingpin". He and Doris loved to take trips in their RV, especially traveling to South Padre Island. Edgar is survived by his wife, Doris Falter; son, David E. Falter (Brenda) of Raymond, IL; 2 daughters, Regina M. Hansen of Springfield, IL, and Arleen A. Huff (Kevin) of Rangely, CO; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Joseph J. Falter. Funeral Information Visitation will be held on Monday, May 27, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Carlinville with Rev. Dustin L. Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Carlinville.
