Marion Jewell
77 of Girard, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, January 14, 2015 at his residence in Girard, IL.
Marion was born on November 27, 1937 to Jesse and Esther (Holtsclaw) Jewell in Bedford, IN. On June 16, 1962 Marion married Norma Carol Wagoner in Bedford, IN and she preceded him in death on January 2, 2008.
Marion worked for RCA Manufacturing for several years. He was then employed as a tree trimmer for N.G. Gilbert from 1964 to 1985 and Asplundh from 1985 to retirement in 2000. Marion was a member of IBEW Local 193 in Springfield, IL.
Marion is survived by three daughters, Tammy (Jim) Folck of Roachdale, IN, Georgette (Steve) Weller of Whitehall, IL and Tracy (Bill) Miller of Kincaid, IL; three sons, Leon (Judy) Jewell of Bedford, IN, Melvin (Joy) Jewell of Auburn, IL and Bud (Crystal) Kean of Auburn, IL; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Gordon (JooHee) Jewell of CA and Marlin Jewell of Bedford, IN; sister, Jesselyn Pfleider of Bedford, IN, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Marion was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a sister, Nelva Salmon. Funeral Information
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 10:00 am at the funeral home in Girard.
Burial will follow in Girard Cemetery.
Friends and family are invited to a luncheon at Grace Southern Baptist Church in Virden following the graveside service on Saturday. Donations Information
