Obituary of Helmar R. Kelsey

Helmar R. Kelsey 82, of Carlinville, passed away, Wednesday morning, April 20, 2011 at Carlinville Area Hospital. Helmar was born August 22, 1928 in Rice Lake, WS, the son of Ruben Clifford and Janet I. (Ritter) Kelsey. He married Barbara M. West at the Federated Church in Carlinville, on December 18, 1948. Helmar worked for Singer Business Machine in Chicago as a service technician and retired in 1975 due to health reasons. He attended St. Paul's United Church of Christ and enjoyed reading and cooking. Helmar is survived by his wife, Barbara Kelsey of Carlinville; son, William Todd Kelsey (Jane) of Plainview; two daughters, Kristin Birkenkamp (Ray) of Mitchell, S.D. and Lorie Wiles (Dave) of Carlinville; 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; two sisters, Enid Waddell of Tahlequah, OK and Gwen Farris of Chicago as well as several nieces and nephews. Helmar was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Kelsey Hulcher and brother Clifford Kelsey.
