Edwin D. Killam
86 of Carlinville, passed away Wednesday morning, February 18, 2015, at Heritage Manor in Carlinville, IL.
Edwin was born March 4, 1928, in Carlinville, IL, a son of Thomas and Ethel (Benny) Killam.
Mr. Killam joined the Army and proudly served his country as a Sergeant during the Korean War.
Edwin married Margaret (Bouillon) November 25, 1949 in Carlinville, IL and she passed away September 17, 1974. He later married Loraine (Behl) Emmons November 1976 in Virden, IL
Edwin farmed in the Carlinville area his lifetime and especially loved working with his grandsons on the farm. In his earlier years he would shovel corn by hand, fill the trucks and haul to the elevator. Ed used to haul cattle for neighbors and enjoyed his ties to the land. He served on the Macoupin County Fair Board for several years and loved having cats around him on the farm.
Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Eileen Boehm and Norma Johnson and stepson David Emmons.
Edwin is survived by his wife, Loraine Killam of Carlinville, IL, son, Jim (Karla) Killam of Carlinville, IL, son, Bob Killam of Carlinville, IL, step-daughter, Penny Smith of Carlinville, IL, step-son, Bill (Jennifer) Emmons of Carlinville, IL, grandchildren: Tom, Matthew, Rodney, Kyle, Megan,Travis and Kody Killam, step-grandchildren: David, Matthew & Jordan Emmons, 7 great-grandchildren, sister, Mary Loveless of Carlinville, IL and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held, Monday, February 23, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Donations Information
