Dale L. Kilmer
71, of Palmyra, passed away Thursday evening, June 28, 2012 at Sunrise Manor in Virden, IL.
Dale was born on January 30, 1941 to Donald and Beulah (McIntire) Kilmer in Granite City, IL. Dale graduated from Palmyra High School in the class of 1960 and than joined the US Navy that same year. He served during the Vietnam conflict until 1964. Dale than married Linda McLeese on November 14, 1965 at the Palmyra Christian Church.
Dale worked for Nestle Beverage company as an operator in the packaging line in Jacksonville, IL for 32 years, retiring in 2003. He was a member of Palmyra Christian Church, the Palmyra Masonic Lodge #463, Palmyra American Legion and the M&M Shriners Club. Dale was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He loved the outdoors as a hunter and fisherman and also enjoyed bowling.
Dale is survived by his wife Linda; son, Justin Kilmer (Lisa) of Meridan, MS; 4 grandchildren, Morgan, Riley, Madison and Alyssa Kilmer; 1 niece and 3 nephews.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Donella Fetter. Funeral Information
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 1, 2012 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Palmyra Christian Church, Palmyra, IL with Masonic services conducted at 4:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 2, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Palmyra Christian Church, with Rev. Bob Schlessman officiating.
Burial will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery with the Palmyra American Legion conducting military rites. Donations Information
