Ruby Meyer 81, of Carlinville, IL, passed away, Sunday evening, September 25, 2011 at the Heritage Manor in Carlinville. She was born in Louisville, KY on September 27, 1929, the daughter of John Turner and Laura (Weakman) Thomas. Ruby married Paul J. Meyer in St. Charles, MO on September 14, 1949. He passed away on December 25, 1979. Ruby had worked for Prairie Glove Factory in Carlinville and the Carlinvilla Motel as a reservation clerk for several years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Heritage Manor Red Hat Society. Ruby enjoyed her grandchildren, bingo and having her nails fixed. Survivors: daughter, Jennifer Gwillim (husband Scott) of Brighton, son, Ted Meyer of Sumner, grandson, Jerad Gwillim, granddaughter, Stephanie Gwillim, sister, Virginia P. Wilson of Flora, IN and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Family and friends may call Tuesday, September 27, 2011 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM. Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Peter Kirby officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lawn Cemetery. Donations Information Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church or Diabetes Foundation.
