Obituary of Arletta Adams

Arletta J. Adams 78, of Girard, passed away Thursday afternoon, October 31, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. Arletta was born on October 10, 1935 to Kenneth and Nellie (Jent) Hinckle in Johnston City, IL. She graduated from Girard High School with the class of 1953. In January 1956 Arletta married George B. Adams in Girard and he survives. Arletta was a homemaker and worked for Cherry's Country Store in Girard for many years, retiring in 1998. She truly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren whenever she could. Arletta is survived by her husband, George Adams of Girard; 2 daughters, Donna (Dannie) Reels and Julie (Brad) Van Huss both of Girard; 3 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; sisters, Joan (Tom) O'Neill of Nebraska, Judy Young of Girard and Cheryl Hinckle of Girard, as well as several nieces and nephews. Arletta was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Nellie Hinckle. Funeral Information Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard, IL. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 4, 2013 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Chaplain Marty Nagel and Rev. Roy Adams officiating. Burial will take place in the Girard Cemetery.
