Eleanor L. Parker
90, of Chesterfield, passed away Friday evening, October 10, 2014 at Elmwood Nursing and Rehab in Maryville, Illinois.
She was born on July 11, 1924 to Alfred and Viola (Snider) Sarginson in Chesterfield, IL. Eleanor married George Parker on November 22, 1951 in Chesterfield. He preceded her in death on January 1, 2009.
Eleanor attended the Albany School in rural Chesterfield. After high school Eleanor graduated from beauty school and became a beautician, opening a shop in Chesterfield. Later, after she and her husband George were married, they owned and operated the grocery story in Chesterfield for many years. She was a member of the Chesterfield Bible Church, loved painting and bowling. Eleanor enjoyed gardening and being outdoors. She would always feed stray animals and birds. She also loved playing the guitar.
Eleanor is survived by two sons, Arthur R. Parker (wife Celia) of Waterloo, IA, Raymond W. Parker (wife Kathy) of Wood River, IL; grandson, Steven R. Parker; two granddaughters, Celeste Parker and Celene Parker; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Floyd and Marvin Sarginson. Funeral Information
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 15, 2014, from 9:00 am - 11:00 am at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at 11:00 am at the Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville, with Pastor Dave Carlson, officiating.
Burial will take place in the Chesterfield Cemetery. Donations Information
