Virgil L. "Buzz" Pruitt, Jr.
Virgil Leroy "Buzz" Pruitt, Jr., 78, of Carlinville, died Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Carlinville Area Hospital.
He was born Monday, October 24, 1932 in Kane, Illinois, the Son of Virgil L. and Opal Abigail (Huff) Pruitt, Sr. He married Doris Marie Bowker in Pocahontas, Arkansas on October 25, 1952.
Virgil served in the U. S. Army, stationed in Germany and France from 1953 - 1955. He returned to his place of employment at Owens-Illinois Glass in Alton where he worked 32 years before retiring. He then drove for Langley's and later for Don and Rob Bailey, until a stroke dis-abled him in 1993. He enjoyed making pancakes for his grandkids, camping and fishing in the Ozarks, cook-outs with his kids and grandkids, and listening to gospel and country music. He loved the Lord and his church family, and has missed being with them in recent years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Pruitt of Carlinville, Son, Dan Pruitt (Beth) of Carlinville, Son, Doug Pruitt of Indiana, Son, Greg Pruitt of Charleston, Missouri, Son, Steve Pruitt (Companion: Cindy) of Nilwood, Son, Don Pruitt of Greenfield, 11 Grandchildren: Derek Pruitt (Gina), Misty Dunn (Jason), Chad Gilleland (Christy),Debra Piper (Danny), Kristie Ornellas (Chris), Daniel, Abbie, Andy, Josh, Donnie, and Jake Pruitt, 12 Great-Grandchildren: Blake, Ethan, Emily, Keziah, Keegan, Gabe, Colin, Braden, Kearsta, Carlye, Braelen, and Wyle, Foster-Brother, Harold Frank.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Helen Eads, twin infant brothers, and a granddaughter, Crystal Nicole "Niki" Pruitt. Funeral Information
Graveside Services: 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Medora. Brother Carl Berry and Brother George Wooden will officiate the service. Donations Information
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, American Heart Association, or Bethlehem Tabernacle Church in Greenfield, Illinois.
