Gerald E. Rosentreter
Gerald E. Rosentreter, 66, of Carlinville, died Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
He was born May 29, 1942 in Carlinville, the second child of the late Victor A. Rosentreter and the late Stella Mae Kalaher. Gerald graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 1960. He married Frances Ann Bellm in Carlinville, Illinois on September 23, 1967 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
He was a lifelong farmer in the Carlinville Area. Gerald served as a firefighter in the Air National Guard in the 183rd in Springfield for several years.
He was a member of Ss Mary & Joseph Catholic Church in Carlinville, and had served on the Building Committee. He also was a member of the Illinois Tractor Pulling Association (ITPA), and was very active in tractor pull competitions, as well as the Macoupin Antique Agricultural Association. Gerald loved camping, and traveling to Texas during the cold mid-west months.
Survivors: Wife, Frances Ann Rosentreter , Son, Rick Rosentreter (Amy), Son, Doug Rosentreter (Cristy) all of Carlinville, Daughter, Tammy Boyer (Bob) of Carmel, IN, Son, Brent Rosentreter of Carlinville, Grandchildren:, Logan , Lonny , Kara, Riley, & Caden Rosentreter, Matthew, Olivia, & Emily Boyer, Brother, John R. Rosentreter (Marla), Sister, Linda M. Reiher (Veryl) both of Carlinville, Several Nieces and Nephews.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donald D. Rosentreter. Funeral Information
Visitation: 4:00 to 8:00 P.M., Sunday, September 14 at Ss Mary & Joseph Catholic Church in Carlinville. Prayer Service at 3:30 P.M.
Funeral Mass: 10:00 A.M., Monday, September 15, 2008 at Ss Mary & Joseph Catholic Church.
Burial: New Calvary Cemetery in Carlinville. Donations Information
Memorials may be made to the Ss Mary & Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund.
