Judy Mae Bentley
61, of Carlinville, passed away at her home on Saturday morning, January 4, 2014.
She was born on July 28, 1952 to William E. "Bill" and Alice M. (Carleton) Meece in Litchfield, Illinois. She graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 1970. On July 29, 1972 she married Randy W. Bentley at the Carlinville United Methodist Church.
While the children were growing up, Judy was a stay-at-home mom. Before that, she was the secretary for Charles Ashworth at the Carlinville National Bank and then secretary for Dennis Schwartz when he was the Assistant States Attorney. She also worked for Midstate at the Carlinville Primary School, working with special needs children. Currently she was a volunteer at the school with the H.E.A.R.T. program. Judy ran the nursery at the First Assembly of God Church for many years. She loved taking care of her flowers in her yard, but most important to her were family, her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Judy is survived by her loving spouse of 41 years, Randy; mother - Alice M. Meece of Carlinville; 4 daughters - Anissa Lay (husband Peter) of Nixa, Missouri, Allison Utter (husband Kevin) of Carlinville, Ashley Dunn (husband Justin) of San Diego, California, and Amanda Bentley of Carlinville; 4 sons - Aaron Bentley (wife Renee), Andrew Bentley (wife Sara), Asa Bentley, and Asher Bentley, all of Carlinville; 2 brothers - William Kenneth Meece (wife Becky) and Kenneth E. Meece, both of Carlinville; 2 sisters - Susan Pentland (husband Roy) of Moolap, Australia, and Peggy Ward (husband Joe) of Carlinville; mother-in-law - Verna Bentley of Carlinville; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by father, William E. Meece on January 24, 2008. Funeral Information
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 07, 2014 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the First Assembly of God Church in Carlinville.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at 10:00 am at the church with Pastors Josh Franklin and Robert Taylor officiating.
Burial will take place in the Rural Methodist Cemetery, rural Carlinville. Donations Information
