Obituary of Elsie Jane Scifers

Elsie J. Scifers 94, of Fountain Hills, AZ, formerly of Girard died Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Hospice of the Valley in Scottsdale, AZ. She was born Tuesday, January 2, 1917 in Staunton, IL, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Uretzski) Zglincenski. She married Leslie Scifers on April 4, 1953 in Litchfield, KY and he passed away October 31, 1988. Elsie attended Carlinville High School and graduated with the Class of 1935. She worked for Dr. Donald Jessen in Girard, IL as an optometrist assistant for 25 years, retiring in 1974. She was a member of Calvary Chapel in Phoenix AZ. Survivors: daughter, Anita Wolfe (Gary) of Fountain Hills, AZ; son, John Scifers of Girard; son, James Prichard (Judy) of Springfield, 14 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Darla Jean Prichard, son Dale Raymond Prichard and sisters Erna Westhoff and Hilda Larcker. Funeral Information Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 9th at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard, IL. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, June 10, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Girard Cemetery. Donations Information Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
