Obituary of L. Opal Bilbruck

L. Opal Bilbruck 87, of Gladstone, MO, formerly of Hettick and Carlinville, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014 in Gladstone, MO. Opal was born November 15, 1926 in Doe Run, MO, a daughter of Paul Edward and Glenda Opal (Harvey) Hughes. She married James William Bilbruck on March 7, 1946 in Hettick and he preceded her in death in 1985. She was a 1945 graduate of Doe Run High School. Opal was a member of the Eastern Star in Palmyra. Surviving are her daughters, Glenda (Vernon) England of Carlinville, Gloria Henze of Carlinville, and Becky (Jack) Capper of Gladstone, MO; son, Richard Bilbruck of Independence, MO; 14 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 1 step great grandchild; 1 great-great grandchild; Brothers, Lee (Evelyn) Hughes of Carlinville and Paul Hughes of West Virginia; half brother, Frankie (Fay) Hampton of Doe Run, MO; half sister, Anna Marie Moore of Farmington, MO and several nieces and nephews. Opal was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Howard Hughes; sisters, Martha Lair and Vera May Hughes; grandchildren, Katrina Bilbruck and David Sutton. Funeral Information Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with burial following in Gilead Cemetery, Hettick, IL.
