Obituary of William Smith

William "Dave" Smith William Dave Smith, 70, of Carlinville, passed away on Thursday April 25, 2013 at Heritage Health Therapy & Senior Care in Carlinville. He was born on March 10, 1943 to William Arthur and Bessie Blanche (Loveless) Smith in Wellston, Missouri. In 1966 he married Carolyn Jean Brooks, they later divorced. Dave worked as a welder and carpenter. He worked for Bouillon Farms for 7 years retiring in 2006. He enjoyed fishing. Dave served his country during the Vietnam War in the Air Force from 1961 until 1964. Dave is survived by 3 sons - William D. Smith Jr. (wife Karla) of Litchfield, IL, Douglas A. Smith of Waggoner, IL, Dennis L. Smith (wife Missy) of Waggoner, IL; 5 grandchildren; 2 brothers - Larry Smith of Cuba, NY, Robert Dale Smith; half-brother - Harold Smith of Blue Mound, IL; half-sister - Gladys Smith of Missouri; friend - Irene Dawson of Carlinville and several nieces and nephews. William was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Gary Smith. Funeral Information Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
