Obituary of Erma Jean Boatman

Jean Boatman 86, of Carlinville passed away Thursday morning, May 31, 2012, at the home of her granddaughter after an eight month battle with pancreatic cancer. Jean was born January 28, 1926, in Scottville, IL, the second born to Oscar and Elsie (Buck)Patterson. She married Lynn Mills Boatman on June 11th, 1944 in Carlinville and he passed away November 10, 1981. Lynn and Jean had one daughter Linda Jean (Boatman) Welte born to them on June 25, 1946 and preceded her in death on April 9, 2010. Jean was employed by Harmons Grocery Store for many years as a bookkeeper until her retirement. Jean was a very dedicated Christian and was a charter member of Carlinville Southern, now Cross Church, where she was an active member for many years. Jean was very involved with the Carlinville Senior Citizens Center as President for many years and enjoyed playing bingo, cards, domino's and putting puzzles together with many of her friends. Surviving are her son-in-law, Tim (Gail) Welte of Franklin TN, granddaughter, Tammy (Bill) Konneker of Carlinville, grandson, Troy Welte of Carlinville, great-granddaughters, Morgan Konneker of North Carolina, Amanda and Adriann Welte of Carlinville and 5 great-great grandchildren. Funeral Information Visitation will be Sunday, June 03, 2012 from Noon to 1:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville where funeral services will be at 1:00 pm with Rev. Tim Rhodus officiating.. Private family burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Palmyra next to her husband after funeral services.
