Obituary of Ann L. Walden

Ann L. Walden 83, of Girard, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Saturday morning, July 27, 2013. She was born on June 16, 1930, the oldest of three, to Bill and Mabel "Bess" (Brawner) Williamson in Virden, Illinois. Ann graduated from Virden High School with the class of 1947, and then on September 3rd of the same year she married Stanley H. Walden in Auburn, Illinois. Stanley preceded her in death on April 12, 2009, after sharing over 61 years together. Ann was a housewife and helped run the family farm. She loved her grandchildren, spending time with her flowers, baking, and embroidering. She was known for making candy at Christmas time. Ann is survived by 2 sons - David and Lynn Walden; 3 daughters - Nancy Lockwood (husband Mike), Dixie Hampton (husband Ed), and Lorie Walden, all of Girard; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers; Edward and Harold Williamson. Funeral Information Visitation will be held Monday, July 29, 2013, from 4 - 7:00 pm at the Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at 10:00 am at the funeral home, with Pastor Dorothy Isaacs, officiating. Burial will take place in the Girard Cemetery.
