Obituary of Floyd T. Weller

Floyd T. Weller 86 of Carlinville, passed away Wednesday morning, March 18, 2015 at his residence in Carlinville, IL. Floyd was born on April 19, 1928 to Chester and Ethel (Conlee) Weller in Carlinville. He graduated from Carlinville High School in 1946. Floyd served his country for 4 years in the United States Navy. He married Joyce Calverd on September 19, 1948 in Carlinville and she preceded him in death on April 15, 2005. Floyd attended ITT School at SIU Carbondale and then started a radio and television repair shop on the Carlinville square for 10 years. He later merged with E.L. Calverd and Sons and worked as a repair technician and sold Motorola TV's. Floyd and his wife Joyce, also ran Weller TV on North Broad Street until his retirement in 1995. The Weller's later managed the Carlinville Country Club for several years. Floyd was a member of the Carlinville Elks Lodge #1412, the Carlinville Moose Lodge # 1216 and was a past member of the Carlinville Lion's Club. Floyd was an avid bowler and golfer, as well as a charter member of the Carlinville Country Club. Floyd is survived by two sons, Michael Lewis (Robin) Weller of Greenfield, IL and Stephen Floyd (Angelle) Weller of Glenwood Springs, CO; daughter, Ann Rene (Bob Brockmiller) Weller of Carlinville, grandchildren; Shastin Bird, Jesse Weller, Nicole Wills, Bobby Weller, Jeffrey Wills, Morgan Weller, Cody Weller, Shay Weller, Kaden Weller, great grandchildren; Kayla, Caleb, Kara, Aliza, Kalynn, Jenna, Corbin, Adelina, Kenlea, two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Rathke of Carlinville and Julie Weller of Florida, as well as nephews; Alan, Greg, and Mark Weller, and nieces; Jill Augustin, Denise Boente, Cheryl Davis, Lynne Evans; and several great nieces and nephews. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Funeral Information Visitation will be held Friday afternoon, March 20, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 10:00 am at the funeral home in Carlinville with Rev. Darin Trent officiating. Jeff Kufa will be providing the eulogy on behalf of Floyd's friends and Morgan Weller for the grandchildren. Burial will take place in Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery.
