Mary L. Wilhelm 92, of Carlinville died Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Carlinville Area Hospital. She was born Thursday, April 4, 1918 on the family farm in Atwater, IL, the daughter of Cephas and Nancy (Blevins) Upton. Mary married Waldo T. Wilhelm in Irving on October 22, 1939 and he died March 15, 1995. Mary attended Carlinville and Litchfield schools during her high school years. Mary was a member of Rural Methodist Church rural Carlinville and had a deep faith in her religion. Mary was a homemaker and enjoyed all the arts; music, reading and writing. She passed her passions on to her daughters. Mary enjoyed the outdoors by flower and vegetable gardening. Mary loved spending time with her family and was a loving mother and grandmother. Survivors: daughters, Juanita Charlton (William) of Springfield, IL, Rosemary Chapman of Bloomington, IL, Cecelia Gilmore (John) of Savannah, GA, Rebecca Kline of Carlinville, IL, and Jennifer Kline (Gene) of Carlinville, IL, son, Shawn Wilhelm of Springfield, IL, 15 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, sister, Alice "Pat" Bumpus of Springfield and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Alfred Upton and sisters, Martha Gibbons and Nancy Jane Lyles. Funeral Information Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 23 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville, IL. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home. Donations Information Memorials may be given to Brother James Court in Springfield, IL.
