Edward L. Boente 82, of Carlinville, passed away Monday, August 15, 2011 at Carlinville Area Hospital. He was born Friday, October 19, 1928 in Carlinville, IL, the son of Frank Joseph and Mamie (Reznicek) Boente. He married Barbara Ann (Wheeler) in St. Mary's Catholic Church on August 11, 1951. Ed owned a trucking company until he was called to serve in the Army in 1951. Ed was discharged from the service in 1952 and began his life long career of farming in the Chesterfield-Carlinville area. He was a member of Ss Mary & Joseph Catholic Church as well as Guy Baird American Legion Post #554, Carlinville Elks Lodge #1412, Macoupin County Farm Bureau, served as a Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus #663, 4th Degree Knight and served on the Macoupin County Fair Board and was past president. Survivors: sons, Robert L. Boente (Peggy) and James E. Boente (Linda) both of Carlinville, daughter, Becky J. Donaldson (Mark) of Carlinville, 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren, sister, Genevieve Godar of Hardin and sister, Beatrice Watson of Carlinville. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara and sister, Evelyn Boente Rosentreter. Funeral Information Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 17 at Ss Mary & Joseph Catholic Church in Carlinville with prayer service at 3:45 P.M.. Mass of Christian Burial will at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Ss Mary & Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be New Calvary Cemetery. Donations Information Memorials may be made to the Ss Mary and Joseph Catholic Church or Carlinville Area Hospital.
