Obituary of William F. Bort

William F. "Bill" Bort 41, of Carlinville, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Rochester Methodist Hospital in MN. He was born Wednesday, June 7, 1967 in Alton, IL, the son of Bruce and Irene (Campbell) Bort. He married Mary (Lewey) in E. Alton, IL on August 25, 1989 at St. Kevin's Catholic Church. (Note: Please allow a few minutes for the video to load.) After college Bill became a radio announcer for WSMI in Carlinville until 1990. He then started his career in law enforcement with the Macoupin County Sheriff's Department. Bill also had worked for the cities of Bunker Hill, Brighton and Carlinville police departments. Bill and Mary ran Music Tracks DJ service from 1989 to 2007. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Carlinville Elks Lodge #1412 and past Trustee. Bill loved the St. Louis Cardinals, fishing, his family, but most of all he enjoyed people. Survivors: wife, Mary of Carlinville, IL, daughter, Kasie C. Bort and son Kyle W. Bort of Carlinville, IL, parents, Bruce & Irene Bort of Bethalto, IL, sister, Barbara A. Bort of Bethalto, IL, sister, Jaime Kraut (Andrew) of Edwardsville, IL, one Nephew and two Nieces. He was preceded in death by infant brother Bruce Christopher Bort. Funeral Information Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, 2009 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 18, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Carlinville. Burial will be in Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery in Carlinville.
