Obituary of Sharon Jean Branson

Sharon Jean Branson 67, of Carlinville, formerly of Girard, died Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at her residence. She was born Wednesday, July 21, 1943 in Springfield, Illinois, the Daughter of Nelson T. and Velma Jean (Stinnett) Spicer. She married James Robert Branson, Sr. at the Wesley Chapel in Chatham, Illinois on November 5, 1961. Branson attended Glenwood High School graduating with the Class of 1961.After high school she attended Lincoln Land Community College where she received her LPN degree. Sharon was a LPN at Pleasant Hill Village in Girard for several years. Later she was a rural mail carrier in Waggoner, Illinois, retiring on October 1, 2008. After her daughter Brittany's death in 1998, she raised her three children, Drew Walden, Erin, and Page Guyer. Survivors: Husband, Robert Branson, Sr. of Carlinville, Son, Bob Branson of Carlinville, Son, Brian Branson of Nilwood, Mother, Velma Jean Spicer King of New Berlin, Illinois, 11 Grandchildren, 2 Great-Grandchildren, Sister, Karon Hatten of Carlinville, Sister, Lynne Hatten (Mike) of Lebanon, Illinois, Sister, Theodora Spicer of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Brother, Barry Spicer of Granite City, Illinois. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her father, Nelson T. Spicer, daughter, Brittany Jean Guyer, and granddaughter, Mandy Jean Guyer. Funeral Information Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, December 2 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard. Services: 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 3, 2010 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home.
