Obituary of Mary Lucille "Lucy" MacLeod

Mary Lucille "Lucy" MacLeod , 90 of Girard, passed away Friday morning, September 11, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. Mary was born June 8, 1925, in Gainesville, GA, a daughter of Grover C. and Fannie (Lancaster) Latimer. Mary married Kenneth MacLeod, Sr. on September 10, 1945 in Ft. McPhearson, GA and he preceded her in death on August 13, 2002. Mrs. MacLeod was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Girard, IL. Mary worked at Memorial Hospital in Springfield, IL as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 20 years and retired in 1997. Mary is survived by her son, Kenneth A (Janet) MacLeod, Jr. of Girard, IL; daughter, Pamela (Tom) Thompson of Eatonton, GA; daughter, Suzanne (Max) Hughes of Katy, TX; daughter, Joanne (Wendell) Carr of Ottumwa, IA; daughter, Nancy (Mike) Thomas of Lakeworth, FL; daughter, Sandy (Brent) Hughes of Auburn, IL; daughter, Joyce (Dan) Jones of Columbus, NC; 22 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter, Catherine Jennings in 1980, 5 brothers and 5 sisters. Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 14, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard, IL. Grandson-in-law, Jacob Crowley will officiate. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard. Burial will follow in the Girard Cemetery in Girard, IL.
