Obituary of Charles Reeder

Charles F. Reeder, 87 of Carlinville, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 1, 2015 at his residence in Carlinville, IL. Charles was born on January 14, 1928 to Charles Dewey and Maggie (Foster) Reeder in Pike County, IL. After completing his education, he served in the United States Air Force. Charles married Bonnie Knight at the Macoupin County Court House on September 21, 1954. Charles and Bonnie recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. Charles started farming in the Carlinville area in 1962, spending much of his life raising Angus cattle. When he was not on the farm he also worked as an electrician in the local area. Charles loved spending his free time traveling in his Native American rendezvous groups, camping and performing leather work for himself and others. Charles is survived by his wife, Bonnie Reeder of Carlinville; two sons, Mike (Sharon) Reeder of Cass City, MI and Rodger Reeder of Carlinville; daughter, Sandy Wiser of Carlinville; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; half brother, Chester "Wayne" Elliott of Lafayette, IN and several nieces nephews and cousins. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Josh Reeder and brother, Bill Reeder. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Reeder family.
