Earl P. Meisenheimer, 84, of Hettick, passed away Friday morning, February 19, 2016 at his residence.
Earl was born on September 2, 1931 to Julius and Nellie (Braden) Meisenheimer in Hettick, IL. After attending Hettick High School Earl joined the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War. He married Anita Bettis and they later divorced. Earl retired from his pipefitting position at the Alton Box Board in Alton, IL, giving him more time to spend with his much loved family. He enjoyed being outdoors, entertaining friends and family at the pond, his many cats, fishing, hunting, collecting marbles, fast cars and cool trucks.
Earl is survived by his companion of 35 years, Jeanette Tungate of Hettick, IL; daughter, Bobbi Goodman of Palmyra, IL; son, David (Kim) Meisenheimer of Azle, TX; grandson, Dustin (Erin) Goodman; granddaughter, Dionne Goodman; brother, Kenneth (Betty) Meisenheimer of Hettick, IL; several nieces and nephews; Jeanette's children, Raymond (Pat) Turner of Hettick, IL and Nancy Ribble of Jacksonville, IL; grandchildren, Stephanie (Rusty) Menge and Kyle (Terra) Turner; 4 great grandchildren.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents Julius and Nellie Meisenheimer, and brothers Paul and Robert Meisenheimer.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at 1:00 pm at the Hettick Cemetery in Hettick, IL, with Rev. Scott Bayles, officiating.
Memorials are suggested to the Hettick Fire and Rescue Squad.
