Elaine S. Link, 64, of Carlinville, passed away Monday morning, April 11, 2016, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL.
Elaine was born on October 23, 1951 to Earl and Louise (Cooper) Oller in Springfield, IL. Elaine met the love of her life while attending Blackburn College. She married William R. "Bill" Link on July 8, 1972 in Springfield, IL.
Elaine retired from teaching science at Carlinville High School in 2007. She taught at Ashland School District from 1974 to 1982. She was a loving wife, mother, aunt, and devoted friend. She was a member of the Carlinville United Methodist Church where she was the former organist and bell choir director, and also active with Sarah Circle. Elaine was also a member of the American Quilters Society. She loved reading, quilting, sewing, crossword puzzles, F1 racing, and nature. She loved spending time in the woods and loved driving her Porsche.
Elaine is survived by her husband Bill; mother, Louise Oller of Springfield, IL; two sons, Steven M. Link of St. Louis, MO and John A. Link of Carlinville, IL; three sisters, Kathryn (Robert) Davis of Berkley, NJ, Barbara (Paul) Carter of Riverton, IL and Cindy (Paul) Wilkinson of Mankato, MN; brother, Darrell (Evelyn) Oller of Lincoln, IL; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Elaine was preceded in death by her father, Earl Oller and son, Timothy C. Link in September 2008.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 15, 2016, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Carlinville United Methodist Church, 201 South Broad Street, Carlinville, IL.
Private Family services will be held at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to the Blackburn College - Biology Department, Carlinville United Methodist Church - Sarah Circle, or the John Link Benefit Fund.
Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville is in charge of arrangements.
