Obituary of Gary Wayne Hubbert

Gary Wayne Hubbert, 65, of Carlinville, formerly of Girard, passed away Thursday evening, April 21, 2016 at Heritage Health Care in Carlinville, IL. Gary was born on September 21, 1950 to Dale and Bernice (Jett) Hubbert in Wood River, IL. Gary was a great man and was loved by all. He never met a stranger. Gary loved going to school at MCDD and enjoyed all of his teachers and classmates. He spent many summers camping at Otter Lake and loved fishing and telling fishing stories. Gary also loved Elvis and dressing up like him, playing his guitar and singing along. Gary is survived by his nephew, Dustin (Shanna) Ruyle of Auburn, IL; niece, Veda Moore of Palmyra, IL; Aunt, Vera McDermit of Springfield, IL and a girlfriend, CJ of Girard, IL. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Billy Ray Hubbert in 2013. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 1:00 to 3:00pm at Macoupin Center for the Developmentally Disabled in Carlinville with a memorial service following at 3:00pm. Burial will be held at Valhalla Cemetery in Godfrey, IL at a later time. Memorials are suggested to the family for Gary's funeral expenses, with all other proceeds going to the Macoupin Center for the Developmentally Disabled.
