Irene G. Pippenger, 84 of Girard, formerly of Elkhart, IL passed away Thursday morning, June 2, 2016, at her residence in Girard, IL.
Irene was born August 18, 1931, in Smithfield, IL, a daughter of Charles and Frances (Helm) Joachim. Irene graduated from Cuba High School with the class of 1949.
She married Norman E. Pippenger on January 14, 1973 and he passed away December 2, 1993.
Irene had been employed as a secretary for Roberts Brothers Department Store in Springfield, Il. She also enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren and pets. Irene had a heart that loved all.
Mrs. Pippenger was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Private family graveside services will be conducted at a later date.
Burial will be in Elkhart Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Logan County Animal Rescue.
