Obituary of Marcia R. Lloyd

Marcia R. Lloyd, 95, of Girard, passed away Thursday evening, January 5, 2017 at Pleasant Hill Village in Girard, IL. Marcia was born on July 5, 1921, a daughter of Leslie and Veda (Minert) Greenleaf in Chicago, IL. She graduated from Waukegan High School and the University of Illinois in Champaign. Marcia married Jerry B. Lloyd on April 8, 1944 in Waukegan, IL and he preceded her in death on June 2, 2007. Marcia was a farm wife and homemaker. Prior to her marriage to Jerry, she volunteered during World War II. Marcia was a member of First Christian Church in Girard and enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors. Marcia is survived by a son, Thomas C. (Colleen) Lloyd of Girard, IL; grandson, Matthew B. (Dana) Lloyd of Normal, IL; granddaughter, Heather (Erie) Johnson of Davenport, IA; 2 great grandchildren, Ethan Lloyd and Aerielle Johnson, as well as several nieces and nephews. Marcia was preceded in death by her husband, parents and an infant son. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at First Christian Church in Girard with funeral services following at 11:00 at the church with Rev. Marty Nagel officiating. Burial will take place in Girard Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church, Girard, IL.
