Obituary of Clifford Harrison Walk

Clifford Harrison Walk, 81, of Girard, formerly of Palmyra, passed away Friday afternoon, January 13, 2017 at his residence in Girard, IL. Cliff was born on July 22, 1935 to Edgar and Eva (Duncan) Walk in Palmyra, IL. He graduated from Northwestern High School in 1953 and served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Cliff married Joyce "Bobbie" Bivin on November 1, 1957 in Palmyra, IL and she survives. Cliff worked for Olin Corporation, farmed and was employed as a car salesman for Victory Lane Ford in Litchfield and MI Ford in Carlinville. He was a member of the Palmyra American Legion, Grace Southern Baptist Church in Virden and the Lions Club in Palmyra and Girard. Cliff enjoyed spending his free time working in his yard and maintaining his lawn. Cliff is survived by his wife, Joyce "Bobbie" Walk of Girard; daughter, Patty Walk-Rentfrow of Girard; 5 grandchildren, Cade Walk, Jared Walk, Samantha Walk, Kerri (Ricky) Hogan and Kurt Turner; 6 great grandchildren, Brooklan, Anley, Koltan, Kash, Revvin, and Lyllii; brother, Delbert Walk of Girard, as well as several nieces and nephews. Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Eva Walk; son, Todd Walk in 2002 and a brother, Donald Walk in 2007. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard, IL. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 10:00 am at the funeral home in Girard with Rev. Jimmy Hammond officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Palmyra, IL. Memorials are suggested to the Girard Fire and Rescue Squad.
