Obituary of Donald L. Prograis

Donald L. Prograis, age 71, of Girard, passed away Tuesday morning, March 14, 2017, at the Veterans Hospital in Danville, IL. Don was born February 1, 1946, in Carlinville, IL, a son of Warren and Virginia (Graham) Prograis. Don graduated from Virden High School with the class of 1964 and attended Sagamon State College in Springfield, IL. Don proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. and received two Purple Hearts during his time in Vietnam. He married Sue Ann Reed at the New Salem Methodist Church in Springfield, IL. Don retired in 1992 from the Illinois Department of Revenue as and examiner. He served as the Scoutmaster for Hettick Boy Scout Troop #66, Track Coach for the Carlinville Striders from 1984-1991 and was a Little League Baseball Coach. Donald was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial Services will be held at the Virden Cemetery at a later date. Burial will follow in Virden Cemetery, Virden. Donald is survived by his wife, Sue Ann Prograis of Girard, IL, son, Donald C. (Toni) Prograis, II of New Cumberland, PA, son, Paul F. (Samantha) Prograis of 29 Palms, CA, and 8 grandchildren.
