Bonnie Sue Schmedeke, 57, of Carlinville, passed away Saturday evening, March 25, 2017 at her residence in Carlinville, IL.
Bonnie was born on June 30, 1959 to Phil Tremaine, Sr. and Carolyn Mullens in Carlinville, IL. She was a 1976 graduate of Carlinville High School, and a 1987 graduate of Lewis and Clark Community College, with the degree Medical Laboratory Technician. Bonnie worked as a Laboratory Technician for Carlinville Area Hospital for 27+ years, retiring in 2015. On July 23, 1977 she married Terry W. Schmedeke at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Carlinville.
Bonnie was a girl scout leader for her girls and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved her dogs, sewing, quilting, cross-stitching, and gardening.
Bonnie is survived by her husband Terry; three daughters, Jammie (Michael) Gourley of Carrollton, IL, Elizabeth (Jonathan) Thompson of Carrollton, IL, and Cindy Schmedeke of Carlinville, IL; two grandsons, Caleb Gourley and Joseph Thompson; two granddaughters, Lillian Gourley and Amya Thompson; grandmother, Letha Mullens of Carlinville, IL; brothers, Troy (Brittany) Anspaugh of Metropolis, IL and Phil (Michelle) Tremaine, Jr. of Taylorville, IL; sister, Joy (Josh) Wills of Gillespie, IL; aunt, Mary (Donnie) McMurray of Carlinville, IL; two sister-in-laws, Donna Schmedeke of Carlinville, IL and Shirley Schmedeke of Carlinville, IL; brother-in-law, Audy (Mary) Schmedeke of Carlinville, IL; several nieces and nephews.
Bonnie was preceded in death by father, Phil Tremaine, Sr., mother, Carolyn Sue Mullens, and grandfather, Leroy Mullens.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 30, 2017, from 9:00 am - 11:00 am at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville, IL.
Funeral services will follow on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at 11:00 am at the Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville, IL, with Rev. Alan King, officiating.
Burial will take place in the Bethel Ridge Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Faith Baptist AWANA Program.
