Marcelia Kay Banister, 68 of Girard, formerly of Carlinville, IL, passed away Monday afternoon, October 8, 2018, at Carlinville Rehab and Health Care in Carlinville, IL. Marcelia was born February 13, 1950, in Lincoln, IL, a daughter of Daniel B and Marlene Faye Kirby Tibbs Jr. She married Dallas S. Banister on November 28, 1967, in Vienna, IL. Kay was a stay at home mom, raising two children. She enjoyed crafting, cake decorating, the outdoors, social media and especially loved playing games on the internet. Kay was a true blue Chicago Cubs fan and was thrilled she could watch the winning world series. Kay was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Christine Irene Banister in 1969. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018, 9:00 to 11:00 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville, IL where a Celebration of Life Service will take place at 11:00AM. Burial will take place at Bethel Ridge Cemetery, rural Atwater, IL Kay is survived by her husband, Dallas S. Banister of Girard, IL, son, Jeff Lee (Sandy) Banister of Carlinville, IL, daughter, Lisa (Darren) Schmedeke of Carlinville, IL, 4 grandsons, brother, Gary Scott Tibbs of Pheonix, AZ, and sister, Marni Hernandez of Montrose, CO.
