Obituary of Dane Ray Armour
Dane Ray Armour, 63 of Carlinville, passed away Saturday afternoon, December 1, 2018, at his residence in Carlinville, IL.
Dane was born March 17, 1955, in Carlinville, IL, a son of Wendell C. and Geneva C. Franke Armour.
Dane graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 1973 and had attended Blackburn College in Carlinville.
He married Karen Sue Brown on April 5, 1980 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Carlinville. Karen passed away March 15, 2004.
Dane was raised on a farm and worked hard to provide for his family. Over the years, he operated a John Deere dealership, worked in agriculture, operated his own small engine repair, and was a business manager for a storage facility. He was meticulous in his work and took pride in restoring John Deere lawn mowers.
Dane enjoyed being outdoors and especially enjoyed mushroom hunting and metal detecting. He loved collecting coins, model tractors and airplanes, watches, clocks, and antiques. Dane treasured his pearl white Cadillac, but his greatest treasures in life were his parents, sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews, his wife, three daughters, and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Carlinville, IL.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ with Rev. Kevin Strope officiating.
Private family burial will take place in Roselawn Cemetery in Springfield, IL.
Dane is survived by his parents, daughters, Nichole (Damian) Zimmerman of Petersburg, IL, Cassandra (Zach) Pellman of Athens, IL, and Kirsten Armour of Springfield, IL, grandchildren; Maggie, Molly and Sonny Zimmerman, Leah, Hollie and Weston Pellman, sister, Gail (Don) Copple of Farmington, IL, sister, Wendy (Dan) Vloedman of Dayton, Ohio, sister, Gina (Patrick) Norris of Dallas, Texas, brother, Greg (Nicky) Armour of Englewood, Ohio, brother, Todd (Martha) Armour of Carlinville, IL as well as several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Armour family for charities of their choice.
