Obituary of Gussie Daugherty

Augusta "Gussie" Daugherty, 90 of Carlinville, passed away Thursday morning, May 7, 2020, at Carlinville Rehab and Health Care in Carlinville, IL. Gussie was born July 6, 1929, in Springfield, IL, a daughter of Roy and Martha Glass Lewis in Springfie She married Earl Daugherty May 10, 1952 in Carlinville, IL Gussie was a shool bus driver for over 13 years for the Carlinville School District. She also was the custodian for Carlinville Southern Baptist Church for many years where Earl and herself were instrumental in the building of the church. Gussie loved to go for rides visiting with friends. Earl and Gussie loved to camp through the United States and visit different parts of the states. She enjoyed her grandchildren and rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals Augusta was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Graveside Services will be conducted at 10:00 am, Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Tim Rhodus officiating. Burial will follow in Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Carlinville. Gussie is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Thomas) Crays of Carlinville, IL, grandson; Brian (Jody) Bouillon, great grandchildren; Dane and Megan Bouillon, step grandchildren; Matthew Crays, Stephanie Sullivan (Paul) and Lacey Crays, step-great grandchildren;Chloe and Cole Sullivan and Duke Crays.
