Obituary of Darrell Wayne Dart

Darrell Wayne Dart, 80 of Carlinville, passed away Wednesday evening, November 9, 2022, at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL. Darrell was born August 27, 1942, in Robinson, IL, a son of Alonzo and Norma Curtis Dart. Darrell graduated from Oblong High School with the class of 1961. He married Roena Ward, August 22, 1964 in Oblong, Illinois. After high school Darrell attended Kentucky Mountain Bible Institute to prepare for ministry. He received his ordination with the Illinois Assemblies of God in 1977. He was pastor of First Assembly of God Church in Newton, IL from 1973 to 1977. He was head of construction for the Illinois Assemblies of God headquarters from 1977 to 1985. He operated Dart Construction from 1985 until his retirement. Darrell enjoyed being with family and friends. He liked riding 4 wheelers with his grandkids. Darrell could always be found outside cutting wood. Mostly he liked to be busy working using his skills in construction. Darrell lived his life with a smile on his face and desire to serve and witness for the Lord. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers; Gary and Frank Dart. Visitation will be held on Monday evening, November 14, 2022, 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Carlinville First Church. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:30 am, Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Carlinville First Church with Rev Steve Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lawn Cemetery. Darrell is survived by his wife, Roena, son, Bradley Wayne (Tina) Dart of Springfield, IL, daughter, Pamela Jo (Stephanie) Dart of Kokomo, IL, grandchildren; Ashley (Ryan), Carter (Kayla), Karenna, Carson, Emma, Trenten, Kyler and Jax, great-grandson Easton, sister, Ann Nethery of Palestine, IL and several nieces and nephews.
