Condolences
To Morris' Family
May the peace of our Lord comfort you at this time of loss. In time, heartwarming memories will ease the void.
While I did not get a chance to "know" Morris, he was a delight when we did meet. He had a beautiful, ready smile!
God be with all of you.
Marlene (Stone) Robinson (from 2016 E Monroe : )
I, as well as several others', grew up with Morris Lee on Monroe Street. We all spent a lot of time playing baseball, football, hide-and-seek and just being stupid in the vacant lot right across the street from his house. Whenever we had a good snow, we'd sneak over to the old coal mine and use whatever we could find (plywood, old ironing boards, car hood, etc) to slide down the hills. Due to his medical problems, he never had the opportunities the rest of us had, and he was challenged with many different obstacles throughout his life. Virtually all of us left Monroe Street shortly after high school and went our separate ways. As I'm sure many others did, I often wondered how Morris Lee was doing. Every once in a great while, I'd drive down Monroe Street, look at all of the houses we all lived in and just think back to those 'good old days'. Morris Lee was good-hearted and never complained about his struggles. Sadly, I now know how much he suffered and sincerely regret not making an effort to find him and say 'hi'. Nevertheless, I do know he is no longer suffering or struggling with pain or blindness. He has a brand new - perfect - body and will be eternally pain free and dwelling in Heaven, as he rightly deserves. Rest in peace, Morris Lee.
